   We are all looking for the "next best thing" to come along. The newest tech, flashy graphics, and something real cool for our web sites. This in and of itself is not a bad thing, but we can get carried away with all the glitz and glamour. Good solid design of a web site is NOT just about how it looks, but how it functions.

   If a web site doesn't achieve it's function (i.e. conversions from a "just looking" customer, to a purchasing client) than it's worthless to the company as a whole. I mean, if the customers are just looking, than why not just send them a brochure and be done with it. You'll get the same results. ( actually you might get more customers from the mailing!)

   Graphics on a web site should not be "just there for looks". If the graphics on your site serve no other purpose than this, they might just be of no value other than slowing down your sites loading time. (read here - NOT GOOD) The faster the load time the more chance you have of keeping your customer on your site to actually READ your content., so use your graphics sparingly.

   Many articles have been written about how to write your copy for the internet. Some say you need to have "x" amount of key word inserted in the text to "be noticed on the search engines" other experts on SEO say it's the keyword placement on the page, while others state "just write what you know and they will come". These ALL are valid to a point. One over the other is never the way to go. All in moderation is the key.

   Like most Americans most SEO companies tend to do everything in over abundance. They latch on to an idea and exclude everything else in favor of this one over-riding idea, and proclaim it as the best there is, and there is no other way to do it. This can lead to disastrous results if Google or the other search engines decide your are trying to "game the system" with Black-hat SEO techniques.

   With this all said, SilverFlame Designs does our best to incorporate the best of ALL these practices to the advantage of our customers. If we determine that something new is out there that works better than what we are doing for our customers we will bring it to their attention and work to implement it promptly, for the betterment of ALL our clients.
